For the second year as part of FLOW Pat Carney, President of The Carney Group, set up lights and a backdrop in front of the Broadway Liquor Outlet at West Broadway and Penn Avenue to photograph anyone who walked by.
The day was sunny and bright as were the moods of the people that passed by the store.
This is just one end of a street full of art, music, good food and happy people. Check back here for photos from up and down the street. West Broadway at its best—FLOW!

Tanek Incorporated, an up-and-coming architectural firm, Fran Shea from Zeichen Press and The Carney Group teamed up to produce this redesign of www.tanek.com. Click on the image above to see the latest handiwork from the team.
We're redesigning the Zeichen site next. We can improve the web site, all right, but the Zeichen product has always been as good as it gets and as funny as Fran Shea. That's funny.

Wesley Walker and NorthWay Community Trust are not new to North Minneapolis nor to the non profit world and neither is their annual report. It's just new to The Carney Group. We've admired the color and the adherence to a grid that has been its hallmark for the previous few years. We wanted to honor a tradition but apply our own colorful mark, as well.
So, here it is. Eight pages of truth and beauty. Reaching for the future with an eye on the past.
Every year 2,500 artists enter their work in the juried State Fair Art Exhibition and out of these entrants only 370 are accepted. The Carney Group was on pins and needles awaiting the verdict of Pat Carney's Photographic print "Life in Balance". Was it going to make it in?
The State Fair Art Exhibition is the largest juried show in Minnesota attracting over 400,000 visitors. The Fine Arts show is free for all State Fair goers from Aug. 27-Sept. 7 at the corner of Cosgrove and Randall on the State Fair Grounds.
Come by the fair and see Minnesota's finest for yourself. And yes, "Life in Balance" did make the final cut.
Holidays give us a moment to pause, contemplate and celebrate. We're asking you to give yourself permission to celebrate the more obscure holidays and share them with others. Take a snapshot, tell a story, let us know how you saunter. Click on the image above!

We were pleased to find out that our agenda brochure for PRI at 2008’s Public Radio Development & Marketing Conference (PRDMC) in Orlando picked up two awards—Best of Class and Best of Division— at the Printing Industry of Minnesota Awards in April.
This week, we received notification that our Lundell folder has won an Award of Distinction in the print category of 2009’s Communicator Awards. This is the leading annual competition honoring creative excellence for communication professionals, and we’re very excited to be counted among the other recipients!
We haven't collected our physical awards yet, but we've got a lovely Brant Kingman bronze (pictured above with Pat) standing in for the interim.

This is the time of the year when we really appreciate the covering on our heads. Not only are they a source of pride to wearers and envy to others at the bus stop. Each is a symbol of who we are and what we think.
Your hat is a visible story about you.

The declination of the sun combined with the pervasive cloud cover turns all of our summer bronzed countenances into something resembling the doughboy.
For the next few months a brisk walk around the block or around the lake will not be enough to brighten our disposition. Our mood needs to come from within. Put a smile on your face (you can do that). Make a good hearty stew or download Matt Alvar’s shiny smiley face as wallpaper for your computer and celebrate Loosen up, Lighten up day.
A sacred duty of all the design firms out here on the world wide web is the loving and careful updating of their portfolio pages. The Carney Group is like a shining beacon in the dark night of old stale portfolio web sections. Here you go, sparkling new work.
